Teachers became first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic.

They answered the call and became heroes in virtual classrooms. Post pandemic, teachers continue to face significant challenges as they adapt to a new educational landscape. Violence in schools, low salaries, student loan debt, increasing mental health concerns, and an array of other circumstances further complicate their profession. Teachers deserve our support.

Teachers Festival, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by a group of seasoned educators and administrators under the leadership of Howard University graduate and business psychologist Dr. Soyini Richards, who has more than 27 years of experience in education as a classroom teacher, professor, and school psychologist. Our leadership team includes highly experienced educators from K-12 schools, colleges, universities, online programs, as well as business owners and community leaders.

Teachers Festival is more than an annual celebration. Through year round initiatives, we provide emergency assistance to educators facing unexpected hardships, offer mentorship opportunities that connect teachers with experienced professionals, promote educator wellness through retreats and self care experiences, host appreciation events throughout the year, organize the Teachers Fest Cruise to celebrate and rejuvenate educators, provide classroom support, create networking and professional development opportunities, build community partnerships, and advocate for the recognition, retention, and well being of teachers. We remain committed to uplifting educators every day of the year, not just during back to school season or Teacher Appreciation Week.

Teachers Festival advisors include school administrators, directors of school programs, educators across multiple disciplines, entrepreneurs, and leaders in nonprofit organizations. Our advisors represent school districts throughout the United States, with growing international participation. Advisor affiliations include Georgetown University, Howard University, Spelman College, the University of the District of Columbia, Boston Public Schools, New York City Public Schools, Baltimore City Public Schools, and many others.

Teachers Festival has touched the lives of educators throughout the United States and around the world. We have proudly recognized teachers in Nigeria, Ghana, Dubai, Egypt, and countries across South America. As our global network continues to expand, so does our commitment to honoring the educators who shape future generations every day.
